STRENGTH THROUGH WEAKNESS
What a season all of us in the southeastern United States have been through. Hurricane after hurricane have come and left us with homes and businesses damaged and destroyed. The landscape and beaches have been changed forever. In the midst of all of this, many who have faith have been able to look around and recognize that God is still with us. We can thank God for our lives and the grace He has given us to survive. Many people I talk to are grateful that they and their loved ones are alive, yet in the aftermath, as we clean up and recover, many are left feeling weary and burdened. How can we be strengthened and encouraged as we face the challenges of recovery in the aftermath of these storms?
Here are some suggestions from the word of the Lord:
“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.”
James 4:10NKJV
“For the Lord takes pleasure in his people;
He adorns the humble with salvation.”
Psalm 149:4 ESV
“Remember that God is strong and powerful. So be humble in front of him.
Then He will lift you up to a good place at the right time.
If you have any kind of trouble in your mind, give it to God.
God has promised to take care of you.”
1 Peter 5:6-7 EASY
Remember Jesus said to His disciples (and to us)…
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:29 NKJV
“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.”
Isaiah 40:29 NKJV
And Isaiah speaking of Jesus said…
“He won’t brush aside the bruised and broken.
He will be gentle with the weak and feeble….”
Matthew 11:20a TPT
My brothers and sisters in Christ are you weary and lacking strength? Don’t try to do this on your own. Humble yourself before the Lord. Trust in his promises. God is faithful! He will deliver you, provide for you and strengthen you.
“….My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” ..
So I’m not defeated by my weakness, but delighted!
For when I feel my weakness and endure mistreatment-
when I’m surrounded by troubles on every side…..I am made yet stronger.
For my weakness becomes a portal to God’s power.
2 Corinthians 12:9a, 10 TPT
May God who loves us and gives us everlasting consolation and good hope through Jesus Christ our Lord grant that we will humbly surrender our lives to Him, casting all our cares on Him, and receiving His strength in our weakness.
God bless you all,
