Jennifer Hills-Wheeler, RIMHC

Hello I am Jennifer Hills-Wheeler, RIMHC, currently working under the supervision of Wendy Wood at Christ United Methodist and Glad Tidings. I am a native Floridian, with a General Associates Degree from St. Petersburg College 2010; to include counseling electives, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Eckerd College class of 2011; where I was selected student of the year. 
I received my Graduate Degree in Mental Health Counseling; at Springfield College (Tampa Campus) 2016. I have over 20 years in the field. Which began in 1997 at the Pinellas County Health Department where I was the 1st Teen Peer Counselor; chosen by the Maternal Health Division. Subsequent to that, I completed an internship with CCEJ Quantum under the leadership of Dr. Yvonne Scruggs-Leftwich; where I tutored, mentored, and counseled high school youth.

At the completion of my internship, I was given a position as the Assistant to the CEO with the privilege of representing the agency annually in Washington D. C. While earning my Graduate Degree; I started a 16 months Practicum with Westcare out-patient substance abuse. I received a Counselor III position in their Residential Treatment Facility. Now I am fulfilling my dream of becoming a Christian Mental Health Therapist.

On a personal note I am a wife, mother of 3 and a grandmother of 4. I have served my community for 37 years; which includes, ushering in my home church, feeding the homeless, starting clothes closets, and small scaled food and personal hygiene pantry. Volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters and CASA. I also ran a Christian Family Home daycare business for 7 years.
I have been told that I am that I have a servant’s heart. Serving my community is my passion.

In my spare time I read, write, cook, worship, and I listen to Gospel music.
